Things to do in Morogoro
And where to stay, the best time to visit, what a day costs, and the traps to skip.
Best time to visit Morogoro
• a note or something on ✦ an occasion worth the trip
Long dry season: firm trails, clearest summit views, mildest temperatures and the best Mikumi game viewing.
Short rains: lush green mountains and excellent birdwatching, with muddy paths and flexible hiking starts.
Hot short dry gap: good for dawn summit starts with extra water, and waterfalls run well after the short rains.
Long rains: cheapest prices and green scenery, but Uluguru trails turn slippery and summits should not be attempted in heavy rain.
