Things to do in Taman Negara National Park
And where to stay, the best time to visit, what a day costs, and the traps to skip.
Best time to visit Taman Negara National Park
• a note or something on ✦ an occasion worth the trip
Relatively drier weeks, clearer rivers and the best window for fishing, Lata Berkoh and long treks.
Hotter and more humid with building afternoon rain, still fully workable with early starts.
Peak season, longest canopy queues, peak resort surcharges and the fullest village lodging.
A good shoulder month as crowds thin, with rain increasing toward the month end.
The turn to the monsoon, rising rivers, more leeches and deep activities progressively suspended.
Wettest months, flooding can cut access and cancel river and trail activities for days at a time.

- Travel Kuala Lumpur to Jerantut first, then either the Kuala Tembeling longboat, about three hours, or the road to Kuala Tahan.
