- Sun Cruise Resort is a novelty sunrise stay, not a conventional luxury hotel.
- Anmok at 3pm on a Saturday means triple queues and no window seat; go at 9am or sunset.

- Swimming is lifeguarded only in the official summer season, typically early July to mid or late August.
Getting around Gangneung: public transport and more
- KTX from Seoul takes about 1h54; book Korail at least 3 days ahead for weekends and festivals.
- Rent a car at the station or hire the tourist taxi for Odaesan, Jumunjin and Daegwallyeong days; city buses thin out badly there.
- Use Naver Map or KakaoMap in Korea; Google Maps walking and transit directions are unreliable.
