Where to stay in Busan
Haeundae
first trip and luxury base

Gwangalli
all-round local-feel base and best view
A cafe and bar lined bay facing Gwangan Bridge, younger and more local than Haeundae, best at night.
Seomyeon
transport, shopping, nightlife and value

Nampo-dong / Jung-gu
old Busan, markets and food
Jagalchi, BIFF Square, Gamcheon and Busan Station are walkable or one short ride, with mid-range and budget hotels.
Think twice about
- Texas Street / Choryang, opposite Busan Station
A small red light juicy bar strip with lady drink pressure and a seedy feel at night. Stay on the Nampo or Seomyeon side of the station.
- Around Busan Station / Beomil
Cheap older motels sold as a Haeundae alternative are a false economy. You spend the savings commuting to either beach cluster.
- Gijang / Ananti coast
Lovely for a resort only stay but stranded without a car, past Yonggungsa at the far north east edge of the city.
- Sasang and motorway-edge inland hotels
Busan's sights are on the coast or the Line 1 and 2 spine, so an inland cheap room taxes every day with transfers.
