Tea plucking resumes and Namphake holds Poi-Nen-Chi in March, with Rongali Bihu in mid April as heat builds.
Hot and humid with pre monsoon storms building and the parks winding down.

Think twice about
- NH-37 highway strip and Mohanbari sprawl without a car

- AT Road and the Graham Bazar to New Market crush for light sleepers

Is Dibrugarh safe?
- Never swim in the Brahmaputra or Burhi Dihing, as currents, shifting chars and sudden depth changes are dangerous at any season.
- In monsoon, check district and ASDMA updates, as the river nears danger level and low areas waterlog.
- Stay with your guide around wild buffalo and elephants in Dibru Saikhowa and do not approach the feral horses.
- Carry insect repellent year round and long socks and closed shoes for leeches on rainforest trails after rain.
Dibrugarh travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- Tilinga Mandir, Dibru Saikhowa and Digboi are sold as Dibrugarh sights but sit 50 to 90 km away, so never stack two in one day.
- Guwahati dinner cruises sail from Guwahati, not Dibrugarh, despite copied lists implying a nightly local cruise.
- A roadside tea hedge photo stop is not a tea experience, which needs a booked factory and tasting visit in season.
- Dibru Saikhowa has no jeep safaris or rhino guarantee, so do not arrive expecting Kaziranga.
Getting around Dibrugarh: public transport and more
- Arrange a car and driver through your stay the day before each excursion, and agree the day rate and start time in writing.
- Use auto rickshaws for town hops and agree the fare before you get in, as app ride hailing coverage is patchy.
- Dibrugarh Airport at Mohanbari is about 15 km out, so allow 35 to 45 minutes from Chowkidinghee.
- Confirm whether your train uses Dibrugarh Town station or the newer Dibrugarh station at Banipur.
