Best time to visit Bhuj and Kutch
• a note or something on ✦ an occasion worth the trip
The season: cool days, cold desert nights, the White Rann dry and white, Rann Utsav running and birds at their best.
Shoulders: in October the Rann may still be drying and not yet white; early March warms fast. Tent City runs to 7 March 2027.
Extreme summer heat, regularly in the low to mid 40s Celsius. Desert excursions are punishing and seasonal stays are closed.
Monsoon floods the salt flats: the White Rann is not white and not visitable as a desert, and rural roads can be difficult.
