Dry and mild, with Tet and the New Year sunrise welcome at Mui Dien if dates align.
Rainy season, November wettest: rough seas, murky snorkelling and cancelled boats, but the cheapest, emptiest city.

Think twice about

Noisy, traffic heavy and a long walk from the beach and food. Fine for one transit night, a poor holiday base.
- Vung Ro or Song Cau as a sole base
Beautiful but isolated, with few restaurants and a car needed for everything. Visit them, sleep in Tuy Hoa as well.

Is Tuy Hoa safe?
- Swim where locals swim in morning calm, and not at all on flagged or storm days in the monsoon months.
- Wet basalt at Ganh Da Dia and the Mui Dien steps are real injury risks: wear grip, carry water, climb early.
- Ride the Ca Pass and Highway 1 only in daylight with a helmet, and let hotels arrange help in an emergency.
Tuy Hoa travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- There are two beaches called Bai Xep: the Phu Yen cove near Tuy Hoa and another near Quy Nhon. Check the province.
- Visit Ganh Da Dia early or late, not at noon in a tour group pulse on hot black rock.
- Agree the per kilo price and check the scales before seafood by weight is cooked at lagoon stalls and rafts.
- Zannier, Xuan Dai Bay and Quy Nhon golf are one to two hours away, not in Tuy Hoa itself.
Getting around Tuy Hoa: public transport and more
- Tuy Hoa Airport is about 10 km south with domestic flights, and the station sits on the north south railway.
- Walk and use Grab in town, rent a motorbike only if experienced and licensed, and hire a car with driver for the coast loops.
- Agree stops, hours and total price for a hired car in writing before you set off, and carry cash outside hotels.
