A casino and border crossing corridor far from every Tay Ninh sight, with inflated prices and a hard sell taxi culture.

Truck noise all night and a taxi needed for every sight and meal. Fine for drivers, a trap for sightseers.

Prices surge, rooms sell out and thousands of pilgrims sleep in the open during the Spring Festival.

Is Tay Ninh safe?
- Ba Den granite routes, above all Ma Thien Lanh, are hazardous when wet. Go guided, go dry, descend by mid afternoon.
- March to May heat is fierce. Plan dawn and late afternoon outside, carry water, and treat Highway 22 truck traffic with respect.
- Near Moc Bai and in Lo Go-Xa Mat, stay on paths and with your guide in a live border zone.
Tay Ninh travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- Arriving at the Holy See after 11:30am and missing the noon ceremony, which runs daily and does not wait.
- Paying for a guaranteed Ba Den panorama in wet season, when the summit can sit in cloud all day.
- The three site mega day trip at group pace, and shrimp salt at highway tourist stops at multiples of the market price.
Getting around Tay Ninh: public transport and more
- The sights sit in three clusters, the city and Hoa Thanh, Ba Den about 11 km away, and the west up to 60 km away, so every cluster needs wheels.
- Use taxis or a hotel arranged car with driver. Ride hailing thins out badly at Ba Den at closing time and barely exists in the west.
- From Ho Chi Minh City it is about 95 to 100 km and two and a half to three hours by private car or tour.
