Autumn harvest season and the best light: Rtveli picking and supra feasts, busiest and best booked ahead.
November turns quiet and cooler, with reduced hours starting and winter approaching.
Winter is quiet, cold and often foggy with snow possible, short days and some small places closed or on reduced hours.

Is Sighnaghi safe?
- Cobbles are steep and slippery when wet or icy, wall sections have drops, and rural roads to Bodbe and Qedeli are poorly lit.
- Winter fog can erase the view and slow the Kakheti highway: allow extra time and do not pressure a driver.
- At David Gareja stay on paths, follow your guide on border area access, and carry water: it is exposed semi desert. Emergency number is 112.
Sighnaghi travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- The Tbilisi day tour rush misses the point: stay overnight for an evening and a morning in town.
- View terraces and famous winery restaurants charge well above Georgian averages, sometimes for small portions.
- Large commercial winery stops are not the same as small qvevri marani tastings in town.
- The City of Love wedding house is a fun registry office story, not a late night resort scene.
Getting around Sighnaghi: public transport and more
- Marshrutkas to Tbilisi leave from Navtlugi terminal by Samgori metro, about every two hours, about 2 hours and about 15 GEL.
- Arrive 30 minutes early for a marshrutka seat, pay the driver in cash, and note the last van back is in the early evening.
- Walk inside Sighnaghi, taxi the 5 to 10 minutes to Bodbe, and hire a driver for Nekresi, Gremi, Lagodekhi and David Gareja.
- If you are tasting wine, do not drive: Georgia enforces drink driving strictly.
