Think twice about

- Heber City / Midway / Kamas sold as Park City
Safe and charming towns, but a 20 to 35 minute mountain drive each way in snow with no free Park City bus.
- Prospector / Park Ave condos unchecked
Some are a genuine walk to Main and some sit on a busy arterial needing a bus ride you did not budget.
- Almost ski-in ski-out listings
Many mean a 5-minute icy walk in boots or a shuttle. Price them as near-slope unless you click in at the door.

- Low-crime town, but lock cars at trailheads and lock skis. Real risks are altitude, sun, sudden weather, icy canyon roads and moose, so give moose 25 yards.
- Check your government's current travel advice before you go.
Park City travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- Paying walk-up lift prices is the biggest money trap. The best casual food is off Main. Do not mismatch resort to group, and ignore Sundance week premiums for 2027.
Getting around Park City: public transport and more
- SLC airport is 35 to 45 minutes via I-80, longer in snow. Park City Transit buses and the Main Street trolley are free. Do not drive to Main Street for dinner in season.
