- A midday day trip is the worst version of Sukhothai: stay at least one night and start at the 06:30 park opening.
- Doing only the Central Zone means missing Wat Si Chum, the sight most visitors remember best.
- The Old City is dark and quiet by about 21:00, so plan dinners there early and simple.
Getting around Sukhothai: public transport and more
- Cycle inside the Historical Park, take the songthaew between the Old City and New Sukhothai, and agree tuk tuk fares before riding.
- Sukhothai Airport is served only by Bangkok Airways from Bangkok Suvarnabhumi, with a shuttle or taxi onward at the far end.
- There is no station at Sukhothai: ride the train to Phitsanulok, then a bus about 59 km, roughly one hour, to Sukhothai.
