- Kaduna State carries severe risks of terrorism, crime and kidnapping. Do not travel now.
- No road travel after dark, no photography of security forces or checkpoints, and medical evacuation insurance is essential.
- The Abuja to Kaduna expressway and train have both seen lethal attacks. Take same week local advice in any future window.
Kaduna travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- International listicles give five names with no distances and no security context. Do not plan from them.
- Kajuru as a rushed day trip photo stop is a long risky drive for one picture. It works as an overnight.
- Older blogs describe a zoo era Gamji Park and a normally operating Kamuku. Both offers have changed.
Getting around Kaduna: public transport and more
- Kaduna is a car city. Hire a vetted driver by the day through your hotel and keep the same driver.
- Zaria is 70 to 80 km north, Kajuru about 45 km, and Matsirga over 200 km south. They are separate journeys.
- Be met inside Rigasa station and at Kaduna Airport by your known driver. Do not walk out to find transport.
