Best time to visit Ulu Temburong

Hot with returning storms; waterfalls and rivers strengthen while tower heat peaks.
Inter-monsoon showers, vivid forest and fuller rivers. The Sultan's Birthday is 15 July.
Wettest stretch; leeches, slippery boardwalks and high waterfall pools, with the Brunei December Festival in December.
What's on

- Sultan's Birthday 15 July
Celebrations centred on the capital and observed in Temburong District, with extra travel demand.

Best things to do in Ulu Temburong
Ulu Temburong National Park

Belalong Canopy Walkway
Steel towers and walkways at canopy height, reached by a climb of more than 1,000 steps above unbroken forest.
Temburong River
The temuai longboat leg from Batang Duri into the park, past pebble banks and overhanging dipterocarp forest.
Waterfall and Fish Spa Stop
A forest waterfall swim where small fish nibble at your feet, the standard second stop on every park day.
Bukit Patoi Recreational Park

Where to stay in Ulu Temburong
Batang Duri and the Temburong River lodges
overnight park trips, dawn canopy and night walks
River lodges at the longboat departure point, removing the pre-dawn capital pickup and adding the forest at night.
Bandar Seri Begawan
day trips and the full range of rooms and food
Every operator collects from capital hotels; the capital holds the country's only full stay and eat range. See the companion capital brief for its stay picks.
Think twice about
- Bangar town as a self-organised base
No public transport from the capital, no walk-in park entry and very little hotel stock. A Bangar bed without an operator package leaves the park unbooked.
- Ulu Ulu Resort as a planned base
The park's only in-park resort suspended operations in June 2020 and is listed as permanently closed. Do not build an itinerary on it without written current confirmation.
