Things to do in Sitges
And where to stay, the best time to visit, what a day costs, and the traps to skip.
Best time to visit Sitges
• a note or something on ✦ an occasion worth the trip
Best months overall: late May to June and September to early October, warm sea and thinning crowds.
Spring shoulder: warming, swimmable by May for the brave, Easter processions and pre summer prices.
Peak summer, sea at its best and everything open, with high crowds and prices.
Worst value month: hottest, busiest and most expensive, despite Festa Major.
Winter quiet town with lowest prices and good restaurant availability, but a cold sea and some closures.

Where to stay in Sitges
Old Town / Centre & the La Ribera seafront
first trip, all-round base
Walk to the station, beaches, museums, restaurants and nightlife, with more noise and higher prices.
Sant Sebastià & Port d'Aiguadolç
return visitors, families, quieter stay
Calmer promenade, the town's favourite beach and the marina, a 10 to 15 minute scenic walk into the old town.
Vinyet - Terramar
families, golfers, resort stay
Leafy villa lined west end with pools, space and Les Anquines beach, a 25 to 30 minute walk into the centre.
Think twice about
- Outlying urbanitzacions such as Quint Mar and Vallpineda
Steep, spread out and taxi dependent with few restaurants in walking distance. Fine with a car, a bad no car base.
- Carrer Primer de Maig, Joan Tarrida and Plaça Indústria
Avoid a room directly on these nightlife streets if sleep matters. This is a comfort warning, not a safety one.
