- Carry water in summer heat of 35 to 40C, gorge paths and Acinipo have no shade.
- View Cueva del Gato cave from outside only, entry is permit only and dangerous.
- Mountain roads need attention especially after rain, closures after storms do happen.
- Use standard crowd awareness for pickpockets on the bridge at peak hour and during feria.
Ronda travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- The midday coach window from about 11:00 to 16:00 fills the bridge, be in the gorge, baths or at a long lunch then.
- View terrace supplements are charged at cafés on Plaza de España and the bridge approaches, ask before you sit.
- Photo menu restaurants on the bridge approaches touting lunch at noon are not where Ronda eats.
- Buy wine at the bodegas and yemas at Las Campanas, bridge souvenir shops cost more and taste worse.
- Mercado de Abastos is mid renovation with few stalls open, do not plan a market lunch around it.
Getting around Ronda: public transport and more
- Walk the centre, everything in town is within a 20 minute hilly cobbled radius.
- Use signed public car parks or hotel parking, the bridge and historic centre are a camera controlled restricted zone.
- Trains run from Málaga via Antequera Santa Ana or Bobadilla in about 1h45 to 2h, buses serve Málaga and Marbella.
- Taxis help for the station with luggage and for bodega returns, wear shoes with grip on polished cobbles.
