- Book rafting only with established Sort and Llavorsí operators, and check Pyrenean weather above 2000 metres.
- Emergency number throughout Spain is 112.
Lleida travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- At the Aplec, the colles cook for their own members, so use the public catering area and book La Huerta for snails.
- Dinner is not the main meal here, so plan big lunches and light tapas evenings.
- Do not confuse the Seu Vella on the hill with the Seu Nova on the shopping street.
- A Baqueira day trip from Lleida in winter means about five and a half hours of driving, so stay in the valley.
Getting around Lleida: public transport and more
- Lleida Pirineus station is about an hour from Barcelona Sants by AVE, and the centre is a 10 to 20 minute walk.
- The city centre is flat and walkable, with city buses for Cappont and taxis at the station.
- Mont-rebei, Sort, Espot, Boí and Malena all need a car in practice, so rent at the station.
- Park in the Cappont or station area car parks and walk the old town.
