- Fox Hills and unfinished residential districts
Quiet, half finished streets with thin dining and few open services, so a short visitor stay feels isolated and every outing needs a ride.
- Lusail Stadium and far north outskirts as a base
An event zone, not a neighbourhood: outside event days there is little to walk to, few restaurants and long rides to the marina and mall.
- Qetaifan Island North as a non-resort base
Built around Meryal and one resort, so it works as a resort stay and not as a general Lusail base with independent dining and transport.

- Lusail has no street homelessness, encampment or crime district to avoid; the local risks are heat, sun, wide road crossings and fenced construction plots.
- Alcohol is licensed venues only, dress modestly in public, ask before photographing people, and the emergency number is 999.
Lusail travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- Katara Towers and Lusail Plaza Towers are hotels and offices to photograph, not sights with public entrances.
- Lusail swimming is hotel pools, resort beaches, Meryal and paid beach clubs, not a free public beach day.
- Place Vendome outlets can close around Friday prayer time, so shop in the afternoon and evening.
Getting around Lusail: public transport and more
- Metro Red Line to Legtaifiya, then Lusail Tram Orange Line to Lusail Central outside Place Vendome, or Red Line to Lusail QNB for the stadium and Qetaifan.
- A single Metro or tram journey is QAR 2 with a QAR 6 daily cap on a standard travel card, the same card on both systems.
- Use Karwa taxis or Uber for Al Maha Island, Qetaifan and the circuit, and do not walk between districts at midday.
