The MR3 and MR103 have fast traffic and no pavements. Do not walk between lodges, restaurants or the casino at night, use hotel transport.
- Any protest or demonstration gathering

Ezulwini Valley travel tips: tourist traps to skip
- Photographing royal residences, government buildings, soldiers or official ceremonies without permission, which is illegal and matters most in Lobamba.
- Treating Mlilwane as entirely harmless. It has no predators, but hippos and crocodiles are dangerous and need distance at the dams.
- Planning Incwala to fixed dates. Dates follow the lunar calendar and are announced close to the time, so keep plans flexible.
Getting around Ezulwini Valley: public transport and more
- Drive on the left. Use the MR3 for speed between Mbabane and Manzini and the MR103 old road for lodges and sights.
- Do not drive rural roads or walk valley roads after dark. Use a hotel shuttle, a taxi or a lodge transfer in the evening.
- Kombi minibuses are often overcrowded and poorly maintained. The Johannesburg to Mbabane airport coaches are the safer public option.
